This is where I share some of my favorite projects from my time at the Dallas Mavericks, Mod Op and M/C/C. In each of these roles, I touched or had my eyes on all creative in some capacity, from team leadership, brand strategy and creative direction to working as an active concept developer and copywriter.
Brand: Dallas Mavericks
Awards: 2 Addys
As Vice President of Creative Marketing, I’m personally responsible for a number of special, high-visibility brand activations. On most of these projects, I work as a creative director and project manager, but, sometimes, a video set needs to be wiped down between takes or an installation requires another set of hands. Whatever it takes to get the job done right.

Brand: FairLease
Awards: Addy & 3 Daveys
After extensive market research, analysis and strategy sessions, we rebranded FairLease as the welcome surprise, an auto dealer that would offer an honest deal to everyone. My team used the client's website to expose many of the tricks typical car dealers use to fudge the numbers of car deals. We even offered free tips to help customers get their best deal, whether they shopped with FairLease or not. Then, we launched an integrated campaign in traditional and digital media alike to drive record-setting sales.
Brand: Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits
For Southern Glazers, we completely reimagined the client’s social presence, starting from the ground up. We developed a whole new strategy with recommendations for handling both in-feed content and stories. We launched editorial calendars for optimally-timed posts, we integrated their corporate identity into images, and we established a tone of voice that was on-brand, knowledgable and approachable. Audience engagement just keeps getting better and better while the brand extends its unique look and feel throughout its social channels.
Brand: Dallas Ad League
Award: Addy
The Dallas Ad League wanted two things -- more people attending their monthly luncheons and no more dry, baked chicken. My team went totally old skool and developed this postcard series to raise the possibility that the next classic ad just might come from what you learn or who you meet over lunch.
Brand: M/C/C
Awards: Addy, Davey & 2 Tellys
It's tradition. Every year, M/C/C went Christmas balls to the wall on the holiday greetings it sent to clients and vendors. Most years, the e-greeting began as an email that linked to a website with an original web video. This particular year, the video was an original production of a comic seasonal slasher film, starring a not-so-jolly old elf.
Brand: Big Thought
When we welcomed this nonprofit as a pro bono client, we couldn’t wait to help it and the school kids and educators it served. Already a successful, local group, Young Audiences had plans to increase its brand awareness from the Dallas area to a national scale. There was only one problem. Its brand name and messaging didn’t accurately reflect its mission or resonate in a larger geographic market. With a green light from the client, I used one of my more unique skillsets of inventing creative, strategic and trademarkable brand names. The new name, Big Thought, captured the innovative spirit and common sense methodology of the organization. Shortly after rebranding, the organization began turning heads in education circles across the country, ultimately winning multiple millions of dollars in support from The Ford Foundation and The Wallace Foundation.
Now, I’m not saying my name was the magic bullet that made it all happen, but it didn’t hurt either.
Brand: ASKO Appliances
After conducting thorough market analysis about its customer's buying considerations, ASKO Appliances shifted its communication strategy from sterile claims about product performance to more emotional messaging about lifestyle and family. This ad, which ran in Dwell magazine, was the first-ever warm, fuzzy for the high-end Swedish appliance maker.
Brand: BCCK Engineering
Awards: Addy, Davey & MarCom
That's no typo. Appealing to the scientific minds of oil and gas engineers, we developed this idea based on the periodic table -- or at least one element of it -- to position the unique value of our client.
Brand: Trilogy Circuits
Awards: Davey & Telly
Trilogy Circuits is a premium brand in the circuit board design and manufacturing space. My team proposed a new web design that would better reflect their elite position in the market. This video is the centerpiece for the home page of that new site.
Brand: M/C/C
M/C/C strives to be a balanced agency in every way. It gives equal billing to PR, social and advertising and strives to produce work that's both strategically sound and thoroughly imaginative. To tell this brand story, we launched this new website and produced this web video.
Brand: Credit Union of Texas
When Credit Union of Texas came to us, market research showed very few people understood credit unions in the first place, and their perceptions of giant banks were at an all-time low. Customers just wanted a better overall banking experience, whether that came from a bank or not. So we gave Credit Union of Texas a friendlier face than you'd ever find at a big bank and explained its credit union services in simple terms that people already understood from traditional banking.
